Steven “Coach Cut” Cutter
Head Baseball Coach
Steven Cutter is the head baseball coach and assistant athletic director at Lansing Community College. Since being named the ninth head coach in program history in August 2021, Cutter has transformed the Stars into one of the premier NJCAA baseball programs in the country through player development, leadership training, mental performance, and a culture centered around uncommon standards.
Since taking over the program in 2021, Cutter has led Lansing Community College to a 208–77 record, two NJCAA College World Series appearances, a conference championship, and national recognition as one of the premier programs in junior college baseball.

Leadership and Innovation
Cutter has become known for blending technology, leadership development, and mental performance into player development. Lansing has utilized tools such as Pison, TrackMan, Rapsodo, K-Motion, Blast Motion, ArmCare, Driveline Pulse, WIN Reality, and GoRout to help athletes improve performance on and off the field.
His work in athlete development and performance tracking has received national attention, including being featured by Sportico for research involving player readiness, sleep, recovery, and performance. Cutter has also presented nationally at the American Baseball Coaches Association Convention on mental performance and technology integration.
In 2022, Cutter led the initiative to relocate the program from Wilson Park to the historic Kircher Municipal Field, establishing a partnership with the City of Lansing that continues to benefit both the college and the local community.
Coaching Background
Prior to Lansing Community College, Cutter served as head coach at North Muskegon High School, where he posted a 50–20 record in two seasons, won conference and district championships, and earned District Coach of the Year honors.
He also served as pitching coach and general manager of the Muskegon Clippers of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League, helping guide the organization to its first playoff appearance.
In 2020, Cutter managed in the Northwoods League with the Great Lakes Resorters, working alongside elite collegiate and professional players and coaches.

Cutter is the creator and host of the Coach Cut’s Corner podcast, where he shares lessons on leadership, performance, coaching, and personal growth. He is widely recognized for building high-performing environments centered around leadership, accountability, relationships, and excellence.
Cutter resides in Mason, Michigan, with his wife, Breena. Together, they have four children: Alec, Caylin, Delaney, and Emersyn.
