LCC Softball wins the college's 5th Conference Championship of the Year.

With the softball season coming to a close the nationallly ranked 19th Lady Stars are running, hitting, fielding, and pitching on all cylinders.  For the first time in Coach Marc Kibby's career (2012-present) here at LCC, and the first time since 2009 for the softball program, the Lady Stars have won the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Western Conference Championship.  

Behind the pitching of Sophomores Alexandra Grys and Renae Morton and the hitting of Madison Adams, Grace Quiggle, and Danielle Collins the Stars have a 33-15 record overall and a conference record of 24-4.  With winning the conference championship the Stars will host the MCCAA State Softball Championships on Saturday, May 7 @ Ranney Park.  The first of the three games will begin at 12:00pm.  

The seasons run has been fueled by a team batting average of .343 and slugging 60 homeruns while averaging 7 runs per game.  The team has a great mix of sophmores and freshman giving balance to all aspects of the game.  

The softball team has secured the #1 seed for the NJCAA District I tournament to be held in Columbus, OH starting May 11.  The tournament information can be found at http://www.njcaaregion12.org/f/16/10/Softball/2016_NJCAA_District_I_Tournament.php
